Passengers booked on Celebrity Beyond were left scratching their heads this week after Celebrity Cruises sent out a wave of erroneous emails about supposed itinerary changes.
The emails, which many guests received regardless of their sailing date, caused widespread panic, frustration, and speculation among cruisers, some of whom are booked as far out as November 2026.
The original email, citing propulsion-related reduced sailing speeds, announced sweeping itinerary adjustments. Guests were told that ports like Nassau, Bahamas, and St. John’s, Antigua would be dropped entirely, with replacements including San Juan, Puerto Rico, and extra sea days.

However, many passengers quickly pointed out that the ports listed in the email weren’t even part of their original itineraries. In fact, guests with sailings scheduled more than a year away also reported receiving the message, regardless of their actual itineraries.
One cruiser summed up the frustration:
I got the email too, but my cruise was never supposed to go to those ports. Confusing!
Others worried this was yet another round of changes, as Celebrity Beyond has already faced itinerary changes earlier this year due to ongoing propulsion issues.
One Celebrity Beyond cruise was completely cancelled in July 2025 because of mechanical issues with the ship. Although the propulsion issue has been temporarily fixed, Celebrity Beyond needs to sail at a reduced speed until her scheduled dry dock in November 2026.

“Yes, we just got the same email. The itinerary isn’t even close to what was originally planned. We were never supposed to go to Nassau,” commented one Celebrity Beyond guest.
Another replied, “Like others on here, someone in our party also received the same email, but our itinerary isn’t even the same as the original one mentioned in the email.”
Some impacted cruisers also noted that the new ports listed in the email didn’t appear on the Celebrity website, which was still advertising the original itinerary. Others found their original itineraries still displaying in their Celebrity Cruises app, leading to further confusion about the changes.
Celebrity Cruises clarified the email was sent “in error”

By late in the day, Celebrity Cruises attempted to clarify the situation. A second email went out to at least some affected guests, admitting that the earlier message had been sent “in error.”
The email reads, “Earlier today, you received a communication in error regarding an itinerary change. Please rest assured that the original ports on your itinerary will remain the same. You will be receiving an updated invoice with the adjusted times we will be visiting these ports.”
The correction explained that while arrival and departure times may be adjusted due to the ship’s reduced sailing speed, the actual ports of call were not changing.
Many Celebrity Beyond guests are still frustrated

Despite the clarification, many guests are still frustrated by the ordeal and remain unsettled.
Cruisers said the initial email caused unnecessary stress, with some spending hours on hold with the cruise line or their travel agents just to verify their itineraries. Guests noted that the ports listed in the message didn’t match their actual bookings, leaving them unsure which information to trust — the website or the emails.
One passenger summed it up on Reddit: “This is a [mess]. They’re affecting a whole year of cruisers’ dreams and untold stress. I get that things happen, but how do you send everyone the same email with wrong ports?”
Others expressed frustration that the error impacted travelers booked well into 2026, who now feel uneasy about future changes. Several commenters worried that repeated adjustments and poor communication are eroding trust in Celebrity Cruises, while a few even mentioned canceling their cruises altogether.
All of Celebrity’s itinerary updates can be found on their website, and adjustments for Celebrity Beyond have been announced through July 2026. Other updates have not been announced at this time, and it appears that most emails were sent in error to Celebrity Beyond guests.
Candid Cruise and Travel will update this story if more information becomes available.
