Reports: Major changes coming to NCL’s ‘More at Sea’ packages

Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) is reportedly preparing to unveil significant updates to its More at Sea package as early as November 5, according to multiple reports and travel agent communications.

The changes come after months of passenger frustration over pricing adjustments, reduced inclusions, and confusion surrounding NCL’s newest fare model.

During a recent YouTube livestream, cruise content creator Alex Yurchak with
Byte Size Cruises
revealed that an announcement is imminent.

“So, there’s going to be a big announcement… which I’m not allowed to announce yet. It is confidential,” Yurchak said during the broadcast. “We will have an announcement in the next week or so—on More at Sea… It’s going to be official November the 5th.”

While details remain under wraps, travel agents were reportedly notified that updates were coming, but were told the specifics were confidential until NCL’s official reveal.

The More at Sea program, introduced in 2024, replaced Norwegian’s long-standing Free at Sea offer. The program provides bundled pricing options for cruisers, allowing NCL guests to save money when booking their cruise fare.

The package typically includes an unlimited open-bar plan, specialty dining credits, a shore excursion credit (usually $50 per port), and limited internet access of 75 to 150 Wi-Fi minutes per person, with optional paid upgrades to unlimited connectivity.

Pricing varies by voyage length, but it generally averages around $25–$35 per person per day, depending on the cruise duration.

On the r/NCL Reddit forum, the forum’s moderator also confirmed that changes were coming. “Since it has been mentioned and already leaked, a change is coming 11/5. Details will be shared at that time (I already have a post ready to go, don’t worry).”

In the comment section, cruisers began speculating that the upcoming changes could address one of the program’s most criticized elements: internet access.

Currently, guests receive 75 to 150 minutes of Wi-Fi, which varies based on the itinerary length. This is far more restricted than the unlimited internet offered with competing cruise lines, such as Celebrity Cruises and Virgin Voyages with packaged pricing.

One Reddit commenter wrote, “Hoping for more internet minutes.” Another replied, “This. Every other line I’ve looked at includes unlimited basic wifi with their packages. 150 minutes is nothing.”

However, another commenter hinted that changes could include prepaid gratuities into NCL’s More at Sea fare. The cruiser shared, “From what I read on other sites, it has something to do with how prepaid services charges is going to be part of the More at Sea, like how the current promotion is running.”

Needless to say, this could be an opportunity for positive change with Norwegian Cruise Line. Many longtime NCL cruisers have expressed frustration over what they see as a series of negative changes in recent months, from added room-service fees to beverage price hikes, dining room changes, and last-minute itinerary shifts.

Yurchak remained optimistic in his comments on Youtube, teasing that the update could be one of the most impactful yet:

“Big changes. Great changes. Could be the best changes,” he said.

It’s important to note that NCL has not yet issued an official statement. However, all signs point to a November 5, 2025 announcement that could redefine how the More at Sea package is structured.

About those of us that have already booked a cruise. Are we going to see any kind of improvement, enhancement or credit?

    1. Good question! Early rumors state that current More at Sea packages will be honored, but it hasn’t been confirmed yet!
