Celebrity Cruises is bringing a fresh cultural concept to its newest ship this summer! The brand-new Celebrity Xcel will debut a Greek-inspired festival inside The Bazaar, the ship’s reimagined entertainment and dining complex.
The Bazaar is a new venue that replaces the popular Eden space found on earlier Edge-class ships. The reimagined space is a shift from Eden’s tranquil, nature-driven vibe to a more energetic, market-style gathering place centered on live entertainment, food, and themed celebrations.
Beginning in summer 2026, Celebrity Xcel will introduce a new Greek festival, as previewed in the cruise line’s latest social-media announcement.
In an announcement earlier this year, Celebrity Cruises shared how The Bazaar will host four destination-themed festivals, including Carnival, Aqua, Viva, and Flora. Each festival will be inspired by ports across Europe and the Caribbean.
These experiences will also feature regional music, costumes, décor, and hands-on crafts, designed to extend the feel of the destinations long after the ship sails away.
Celebrity Xcel will sail in the Mediterranean next summer
Celebrity Xcel just debuted for her inaugural season in the Caribbean. However, the ship will spend her inaugural summer sailing a series of Mediterranean itineraries, positioning the new Greek festival as a natural extension of its ports of call.
The ship will operate round-trip voyages from Barcelona, Spain and Athens, Greece with visits to some of the region’s most sought-after destinations.
Throughout the season, Celebrity Xcel will offer everything from 7-night Western Mediterranean trips to 8- to 11-night itineraries spanning Greece, Malta, Turkey, Portugal, and Morocco.
Many of these itineraries revisit Celebrity’s most popular European ports with multiple Greek Isles visits, making the new Greek festival at The Bazaar feel especially connected to the ship’s real-world destinations.
By basing the ship in Europe for its inaugural summer, the cruise line is clearly aligning Celebrity Xcel’s new onboard programming, including the Greek festival, with the places guests will explore during the day.
The result is a more immersive Mediterranean experience that blends onshore adventure with cultural celebration at sea.
What guests can expect during the Greek Festival on Celebrity Xcel
