During my recent cruise on Celebrity Edge, I was eager to try a few of the ship’s specialty restaurants. Celebrity’s Edge class ships have seven specialty restaurants onboard, including Eden, Fine Cut Steakhouse, Raw on Five Sushi, Le Petit Chef, and Rooftop Garden Grill.
Fine Cut Steakhouse is one of the main specialty dining venues across Celebrity’s fleet, and it’s often positioned as the cruise line’s most elevated steakhouse experience.

Aboard Celebrity Edge, Fine Cut Steakhouse is located in the Grand Plaza, which is a stunning, multi-level atrium space at the heart of the ship. Some guests have mentioned that dinner can feel noisy because of this open design in the Grand Plaza, so that’s something to keep in mind depending on your tolerance for ambient sound.
Instead of splurging for a dinner meal, we opted to visit Fine Cut Steakhouse for lunch. The meal was about half the cost, which allowed us to try many of the restaurant’s most popular dishes for a fraction of the price.

We booked our reservation ahead of time and received a pre-cruise discount, bringing our total to $86.36 for two people, including gratuities. The entire amount was covered using onboard credit, which made the decision even easier.
Fine Cut Steakhouse Pricing (Lunch vs. Dinner):
According to Celebrity’s pricing for our sailing on Celebrity Edge:
- Dinner: $65 per person (discounted pre-cruise to $57.99)
- Lunch: $45 per person (discounted pre-cruise to $39.99)

Overall, I’m glad we visited Fine Cut Steakhouse, as it was always somewhere I wanted to try. It’s always fun to try a new dining experience while cruising. Not to mention, I am a big fan of Chops Grille aboard sister-brand Royal Caribbean, and I was eager to see how the experiences compared.
For what we received, lunch felt like an exceptional value compared to dinner pricing. Here’s my honest review of Celebrity’s Fine Cut Steakhouse restaurant, and whether it’s something I’d want to do again.
Celebrity’s Fine Cut Steakhouse lunch experience

We dined at Fine Cut Steakhouse on a sea day, and surprisingly, we were one of only two tables in the restaurant. The lunch menu is slightly smaller than the dinner menu, but most of the main offerings are the same.
Fine Cut Steakhouse has an elegant, refined ambiance. Without the evening crowds moving through the Grand Plaza, Fine Cut felt intimate and relaxed rather than bustling or loud during lunch.

Service wasn’t quite as attentive as we expected, which was slightly disappointing. Our server was very helpful at the beginning, but slowly disappeared throughout the meal. There was one odd moment after dessert, when the server disappeared once the restaurant closed without saying anything to us.
However, because we had prepaid for the meal, there was no bill to settle. This didn’t impact the experience in a meaningful way, but it was a slightly unusual ending to our meal.

Here’s exactly what we ordered for lunch at Fine Cut Steakhouse, including our honest thoughts on each selection.
Bread Service

Soft, warm bread served with salted butter. The bread was light and airy versus dense and heavy. Simple, buttery, and exactly how you want to start a steakhouse meal.
Bacon

The bacon was tender with a nice balance of fat and meat, finished with a lightly sweet sauce that didn’t overpower the dish. Fabulous!
Burrata Salad

Very fresh salad with creamy, high-quality cheese. Light, well-balanced, and a great starter if you don’t want anything too heavy before the main course.
Crab Cake

Fantastic. Flavorful, crispy on the outside, and clearly freshly made, as it wasn’t mushy or overly packed with filler. The sauce complemented the crab without stealing the spotlight, and the portion size felt generous.
Lemon Poached Lobster Tail

Exceptional. Perfectly cooked, tender, and not at all tough. The sauce was rich and enhanced the lobster rather than masking it. One of the standout dishes of the meal. My husband says he still dreams of this dish!
Ribeye Steaks

Both ribeyes were tender, juicy, and generously portioned. I could hardly finish my steak because it was huge!
My husband preferred the chimichurri sauce, which added excellent flavor without overwhelming the meat. I gravitated toward the béarnaise and creamy peppercorn sauces, both of which paired beautifully with the steak.
Mashed Potatoes

Nice texture, but fairly simple. I personally wanted a bit more seasoning, though my husband liked them exactly as they were. I preferred the mashed potatoes in the dining room instead.
Truffle Fries

Very good and portioned appropriately for one person. Crisp, aromatic, and indulgent without being greasy. I would have liked a side of aioli for dipping.
Apple Crumble

Phenomenal. Elevated far beyond the main dining room version, with larger crumble pieces, great texture, and cinnamon ice cream that tied everything together perfectly. Sweet, warm, and comforting.
Brownie

Just okay. Very dense and large portion. Served with chocolate shavings and nuts with drizzles of caramel. I would have preferred it warm, and probably wouldn’t order it again unless it could be heated.
Is Fine Cut Steakhouse worth it?

At the reduced lunch pricing, I think Fine Cut Steakhouse is definitely worth it.
We loved the high-quality steaks, excellent seafood, and a refined atmosphere. The price point felt reasonable for lunch, especially with pre-cruise discounts and onboard credit.
The food quality easily surpassed the main dining room, and the experience felt special without being overly formal.

One detail worth calling out on Fine Cut’s lunch menu: it clearly stated that a “$20 charge [is] applied per additional entrée ordered.”
This stood out to me because I hadn’t noticed similar language on other Celebrity specialty dining menus, and it doesn’t appear on the dinner menu. However, our server did not charge us the extra $20 for my husband’s extra lobster dish, which we appreciated.
It’s possible the policy is applied at the crew’s discretion, depends on portion sizing, or is simply more flexible during lunch service, but it’s something to be aware of if you’re planning to order multiple entrées.
