Celebrity Cruises is known for elevating cruise dining, and Rooftop Garden Grill is one of the newest specialty restaurants in its fleet. After multiple visits, I can confidently say this underrated venue continues to be one of our favorite casual specialty restaurants at sea!
Rooftop Garden Grill is an open-air specialty restaurant located in Rooftop Garden area (Deck 15) on Celebrity’s Edge-class ships.
Unlike many specialty venues that feel formal or enclosed, this restaurant is more relaxed with an upscale-casual vibe and panoramic ocean views. You can also enjoy the greenery of Rooftop Garden and outdoor seating.

You’ll find Rooftop Garden Grill on the following ships: Celebrity Edge, Celebrity Apex, Celebrity Beyond, and Celebrity Ascent.
During my recent cruise, we chose to dine at Rooftop Garden Grill during sailaway from Auckland, New Zealand, and it was easily one of the highlights of the cruise!
The sunset was stunning, and watching the city fade into the distance from the rooftop while enjoying dinner made the experience feel extremely special. The open-air design really shines here with fresh air, live ocean views, and great food.

Here’s everything you need to know about dining at Celebrity’s Rooftop Garden Grill and whether I think it’s worth the additional cost.
How much does Celebrity’s Rooftop Garden Grill cost?

For 2026 sailings, pricing remains very reasonable for a specialty restaurant. Here are the current prices for Celebrity’s Rooftop Garden Grill.
- Dinner: $40 per adult
- Lunch: $35 per adult
Given the quality of the food and the atmosphere, I’d argue it’s one of the best values among Celebrity’s specialty dining options. You can often snag a discount before embarkation in Celebrity’s Cruise Planner, anywhere from 10% to 30% more.
I recommend booking Rooftop Garden Grill for dinner if you can, especially during sunset.
Rooftop Garden Grill Menu Review: Everything we ordered

Rooftop Garden Grill’s menu is very casual with comforting, cozy dishes. The restaurant has a big emphasis on hearty, homestyle flavors and barbecue-focused entrées.
The overall approach of Rooftop Garden Grill is relaxed and approachable, but it isn’t limited to classic comfort food. The menu also includes more elevated options, including most well-executed steaks.
We were not limited on what we could order during our visit, meaning we enjoyed multiple appetizers, entrees, and sides with our meal!
Overall, we enjoyed our entire meal at Rooftop Garden Grill and the experience showcased why this restaurant remains such a popular choice on Celebrity’s Edge-class ships.
Buffalo Wings

Absolutely amazing. Perfectly cooked, juicy on the inside, and coated in a classic buffalo sauce with just the right amount of heat. Even the ranch was creamy, flavorful, and tasted homemade.
Pulled Pork Sliders

The meat was good, but the buns were a bit stale during our visit. Not bad, but not the strongest dish of the meal. I’ve had these before and enjoyed them previously.
Caprese Salad

Fresh, vibrant flavors and excellent quality. My only critique: it needed more mozzarella to really balance the tomatoes.
BBQ Ribs

Out of this world! My husband is a serious ribs fanatic (he makes his own at home), and even he was impressed. These were cooked perfectly: tender meat but not falling apart, meaty without being too fatty, and paired with an excellent barbecue sauce.
T-Bone Steak

A perfect 10/10 score! My husband said this was one of the best steaks he’s ever had on a cruise ship. The quality of the meat was fantastic, cooked perfectly, and so flavorful it didn’t even need sauce.
WTF Burger

Incredible. Juicy, full of flavor, and topped with a fantastic sauce that tied everything together. Fries were similar to Mast Grill fries (which I personally like), and adding a side of ranch made it even better. This is one of the best burgers I’ve ever had on a cruise ship!
Mac & Cheese

A classic side for barbecue! It tasted slightly different than on a previous sailing but remained cheesy, savory, and genuinely homemade.
Creamed Corn

Not the traditional sweet version of creamed corn that you might expect in the U.S., but excellent in its own way. The added peppers gave it a nice kick, and we finished the entire dish.
Cookie Skillet

Outrageously good. Served hot and baked fresh to order (it takes about 8 minutes), it’s technically shareable — but honestly, it was so good that we both wished we had ordered our own. An absolute must-order!
Is Rooftop Garden Grill worth it? Why I think so

If you’re debating on whether Rooftop Garden Grill is worth the extra cost in 2026, the answer is a clear yes, especially for dinner on a scenic departure day.
Between the views, the value, and tasty dishes like the T-bone steak, ribs, and cookie skillet, it remains one of Celebrity’s most satisfying specialty dining experiences.
In my opinion, Rooftop Garden Grill delivers strong value, consistently good food, and one of the best outdoor dining settings at sea.

The specialty dining restaurant is casual without feeling basic, and elevated without feeling stuffy. The cozy ambiance and delicious food is one of the reasons it remains one of our favorite specialty restaurants on any cruise ship!
If you’re sailing on an Edge-class ship and enjoy steak, ribs, burgers, and dining with a view, Rooftop Garden Grill is an easy recommendation. I especially recommend booking dinner during sunset from an especially scenic port of call. You won’t regret it!
