One passenger wrote: “They said a woman in a wheelchair fell between the dock and the ship, and her husband immediately jumped in after her.”

Another passenger onboard described seeing emergency responders perform CPR near the pier area after guests were temporarily prevented from disembarking.

“They blocked us from getting off the ship. Once they let us off, they were performing CPR.”

Additional eyewitnesses later claimed the husband was eventually rescued after jumping into the water. Another passenger later shared a more detailed update claiming the woman ultimately died after the incident.

“For anyone wondering. The lady on the scooter did not make it. The current was too much and it took them longer to get to her. Her husband did jump in and try to save her and he was revived however he did have a small heart attack and was taken [to] the medical center on ship.”

At this time, those claims have not been independently confirmed by authorities or Carnival Cruise Line.
