Guy’s Burger Joint has become one of the most popular dining spots on Carnival Cruise Line. The casual poolside eatery is known for serving up juicy, freshly made burgers with bold flavors and indulgent toppings. The menu at Guy’s Burger Joint includes everything from classic burgers to over-the-top creations. And the best part is that Guy’s Burger Joint is included in your cruise fare!
The concept first debuted in 2011 as part of Carnival’s Fun Ship 2.0 initiative, a major effort to upgrade the onboard experience across the fleet. Partnering with celebrity chef Guy Fieri, Carnival Cruise Line introduced the burger joint on Carnival Liberty, and it didn’t take long for the concept to explode in popularity.
Since then, Guy’s Burger Joint has expanded fleetwide and is now a staple on every Carnival ship. According to Carnival, the cruise line serves millions of burgers each year, with some ships cranking out close to 1,000 burgers per day.

Located on the Lido deck, the venue is designed to feel like a laid-back roadside burger shack, complete with surfboards, bold colors, and a high-energy atmosphere. It’s quick, casual, and one of the busiest included dining options onboard any Carnival cruise ship.
Note: Guy’s Burger Joint menus can vary slightly across the fleet. Carnival’s Italian-style ships may feature a slightly different menu lineup.

Guy’s Burger Joint is one of the best burgers at sea

Guy’s Burger Joint is one of those places that absolutely lives up to the hype. Honestly, it’s easy to see why so many cruisers swear it has the best burgers at sea!
You can typically find Guy’s Burger Joint near the pool deck on Carnival’s ships, often tucked between the pool area and nearby bars. Excel class ships will have larger restaurants while the older vessels might have a smaller space. The menu is identical regardless of which ship you sail on, unless you’re sailing on Carnival’s “Fun Italian Style” ships.

Guy’s Burger Joint menu itself is pretty basic with five signature burgers. But, the wording can be a little confusing at first. Between acronyms like S.M.C. and L.T.O.P., I usually need to take a second to figure out what everything means.
Don’t be deterred by the line, as it’s a popular spot on every Carnival ship! The line always moves quickly, as crew members are constantly assembling burgers at an impressive pace. Within a few minutes of ordering, I had a hot, freshly-made burger with a generous serving of hand-cut fries.

My favorite burger is The Ringer, which includes cheese, BBQ sauce, and a crispy onion ring. I love the combination of the BBQ sauce and onion ring, as it adds just enough extra flavor without overpowering the meat.
In my experience, Guy’s Burger Joint has always served juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked burgers. The patty is well-seasoned on its own, but the toppings always elevate the burger even further. The fries are also hand-cut, crispy and perfectly seasoned.
The burgers also a decent portion size. I’d say it’s bigger than your typical fast food burger but not quite as large as you’d get at a restaurant.
Don’t forget the toppings bar!

After grabbing your burger, you can head to the toppings bar to customize it even further. There’s a decent selection of hot and cold toppings, along with a handful of sauces.

This part was a bit hit or miss for me. While the variety is nice, the sauces aren’t anything special, and the ranch was disappointing the last time I tried it. As someone who loves ranch, I usually like to dip my burger and fries into this sauce, so I was bummed.
Guy’s Burger Joint is a favorite for a reason

Is Guy’s Burger Joint the most refined dining experience on a cruise ship? Definitely not, but that’s part of the fun! This burger joint is meant to be quick, casual, and reliably good on Carnival’s cruise ships. And for an included option, it’s hard to beat.
After cruising on multiple lines, I’d argue that Guy’s Burger Joint is easily the best burger I’ve had on a cruise ship. You’ll find plenty of burgers on other cruise lines, but few come close to this level of flavor and consistency without paying extra.
If you’re sailing with Carnival, this is definitely one spot you shouldn’t skip!
